Taitaja2025 Turku event was from 5th to 8th of May in 2025. This event is organized every year around Finland and is a major event for Finnish Vocational education where students from different professions come to compete against others in same professional area. The 2025 event organization started in 2023 since in January of 2025 semifinals in all the different skills were organized around Finland. the top 8 from every skill then moved on to the finals that were held in Turku. During the three day event (plus the opening evening) there were approximately 66 000 visitors.
My role in this event was communications assistant and during the organization process I was doing a lot of different visual materials and was a part of organizing things around my expertise.
Some of the things I did:
- Photographed Taitaja2025 office profile pictures and some of the skill competition managers
- Took pictures during different events leading up to the main event and during the main event, and also did some photos for social media posts
- Edited videos and photos for social media and the event page, some of these were done in very short timeframe
- Created visual material for social media and other material for different partners of the event (these were uploaded to the events material bank and often made in three different languages)
- Edited Taitaja2025.fi Wordpress pages
- Made material for printing purposes and for digital media to advertise the event (Maaseudun tulevaisuus, Åbo underrättelser, Rahtarit, TOK screen, Föli screen, Gatorade Center screens, FC inter screen, Turun seutusanomat)
- Handled translation topics: sent the original material for translation and worked as a communication link between the skill managers and translators and created an excel spreadsheet to track the translation process
- Organized the event documentation (done by students) during the main event (photography: Skills Finland image bank photos; video: the daily videos in Youtube and social media; TikTok videos. I took care that everyone knew what their responsibilities were and what they should be documenting, collected and informed about the timetables of all the skills, worked as a support for the students)
- Created different materials for the event from animations to pictures and posters
- Made the front page, timetable page and map page for Taitaja2025 paper
